In a sad and ironic twist of fate, an Uzbek Muslim terrorist in a truck ran down a group of Americans in New York, after a hateful leftist, political TV ad had shown someone depicted as a conservative trying to run down Muslim and other minority children with his truck.
This incident should show us how important it is to focus on the real cause of the problem and not the tools used. The problem is radical Islamic terrorists. Not trucks, cars, guns, knives, and sticks and bricks. As long as we fail to deal with the real problem, we’ll continue to have the problem.
If we gave the liberals what they want and followed the European example to eliminate guns, the terrorist will just exploit other means to accomplish their Jihad against the West. In Europe, deadly vehicular attacks are common, and we should probably expect more here.
I don’t think a lot of folks realize how often these mass murders by vehicle occur. These terrorists are using vehicles more and more to commit mass homicides. Last year in Nice France, dozens of innocent people were senselessly murdered by a radical Muslim terrorist from Tunisia, who drove a truck through a crowd of innocent people. This happened as they were enjoying their national day of independence. That terrorist killed 84 people and injured 202 more, with his truck.
In March 2006, a 22-year-old Muslim graduate of the University of North Carolina named Mohammed Reza Taheri-Azar rampaged through a popular gathering at the university’s campus in Chapel Hill.
On Oct. 20, 2014, in Quebec, Muslim terrorist, Martin Couture-Rouleau, rammed his vehicle into two Canadian soldiers in the parking lot of a shopping center.
On Oct. 11, 2014, Abdel-Rahman Shaloudi, slammed his car into a crowd of people at a light rail stop in Jerusalem, killing a 3-month-old American-born girl and a 22-year-old Ecuadorian tourist. Seven other people were injured.
On Dec. 21-22, 2014, in Dijon and Nantes, France two men crash their cars into groups of pedestrians on successive days. Eleven people were injured in Dijon, and the next day, one person is killed and nine others are injured in Nantes.
In another incident, Muslim terrorist Yassin Salhi, decapitated his boss and drove his van into a gas factory near Lyon. His crash blew up two gas cylinders injuring two people in the explosion.
On Jan. 1 2016, a man rammed his car twice into four soldiers guarding a mosque in Valence, France, injuring a soldier and an elderly man. Officials said they found jihadist propaganda on his computer.
If these terrorist acts had been committed with guns rather than vehicles, liberals would be blaming the guns and attacking gun ownership. But they completely miss the point that vehicles are no more culpable of mayhem than guns are.
So despite the lack of any logical consistency, no liberal is trying to ban car ownership. No liberal is demanding an end to the right to drive vehicles. No liberal is claiming that access to vehicles must be restricted and controlled because vehicles kill people. No one is demonizing car owners as dangerous.
No liberal is trying to classify some vehicles as assault vehicles based on their scary appearance.
No liberal is trying to legislate that all car owners have to be placed in a national registry so they could be tracked by the Government.
I’m using satire to make a point about liberal logic. But there really are things that we can do to make Americans safer. We can immediately end the diversity visa lottery system that allowed this terrorist to enter our country and bring 23 of his relatives with him. It is insanity to base American immigration on such nonsense rather than a merit based system.
We can restrict immigration from all terrorists’ hotspots. It’s time we base our immigration decisions on what is good for America.
As the European experience demonstrates, it is a fact that importing large numbers of immigrants from jihadist-dominated regions allows for the creation of distinct subcultures where the jihadist message can flourish.
If America is to be spared this completely unnecessary violence, we have to avoid European mistakes and ensure that our doors are closed tight against possible terrorists.
