We proudly established this scholarship in memory of Ralph Gerhardt, a tireless Wilson County Patriot member and San Antonio Tea Party supporter who set the bar for citizen activism and involvement that would make the Founders proud! Read more about Ralph Gerhardt here.
This is the second annual Ralph Gerhardt Memorial Scholarship to develop in Americans an appreciation of the Constitution of the United States and the role of government as intended by the Founding Fathers, so that citizens are prepared to defend against those who would ignore, weaken, or dismantle it.
This $1,000 scholarship is open to any South Texas high school student, including homeschooled and GED candidates, who are citizens of the United States and who have successfully completed or are currently enrolled in a U.S. Government class.

The finalists will be determined by the contents of the applicants’ original comparative essays regarding the Constitution of the United States. The winner will be determined by a personal interview which discusses the student’s personal understanding of the Constitution and an oral presentation covering the essay.
