Senator Ted Cruz Won’t Support Immigration Compromise

We Say: Trust Senator Cruz to clearly articulate a Conservative viewpoint.

Legalizing illegals before stopping the cross-border flow of kids will only make matters worse for a fresh batch of Mexican youngsters.

As our friend George Rodriguez is fond of saying, “What part of illegal don’t you understand?”

Sen. Ted Cruz said Saturday he would not support the bipartisan deals being brokered in Congress that could allow some undocumented immigrants a path to citizenship.

“I understand it’s easy for folks in the media to advocate for amnesty,” Cruz told reporters at an event on Saturday in Tyler. “I can tell you the people of Texas don’t support it.”

Members of Congress are negotiating an immigration bill with President Donald Trump that could include both building a wall along the Mexican border and allowing undocumented immigrants who were brought to the United States as children a path to legal citizenship, according to the Associated Press.

“I think the legislative proposals being floated in Washington are deeply troubling,” Cruz said. “Those here illegally, we should not be granting a path to citizenship. That is wrong and it’s inconsistent with the promises that we made to the men and women of this country.”

Cruz said the Republicans who are advocating for citizenship for undocumented immigrants who came here as children are more liberal than former president Barack Obama.

Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, program allowed about 800,000 immigrants who arrived as children to stay in the country, according to Cruz, while the deal under consideration could benefit closer to 2 million.

“Yet you’ve got Republicans falling all over themselves to grant amnesty and a path to citizenship to millions of people who are here illegally,” he said. “That is a mistake. It’s wrong. And we shouldn’t be doing it.”

Cruz also linked immigrants who came here as children to gangs and drug cartels that are trafficking unaccompanied minors across the border.

“People trafficking in unaccompanied minors, they’re not goodhearted social workers with beards and Birkenstocks trying to help the kids,” Cruz said. “These are vicious, transnational drug cartels and these children are subject to sexual abuse, to physical abuse.”

“When you ask these unaccompanied minors why they are coming, the answer they would give over and over and over again is that they had been told they would get a ‘permiso’ (the Spanish word for permission) if they just got here and could stay and become an American citizen,” Cruz said.

“It has ended up subjecting more children to physical abuse at the hands of corrupt and brutal drug cartels,” he said.

Mr. President why have a” WALL ” if all the Mexicans are coming over any way. They will all be on this side. I could not believe that that people are allow to leave water for them. These Mexicans are wrong in the eyes of God. We are suppose to obey the laws of the land, except when they try to make us disobey the word of God. The Catholic Church enable them to break the law of the US.
People are helping them break the law when they put water out for them, they
are enabling them to break the law. Who ever does that should be put in jail.
Call 1-202-456-1111 the White House and tell the President that those people should go to jail because they are enabling the illegals break our laws.
Call from 9:am- 4:pm central standard time

Here in San Antonio a lot of Mexican Americans voted for Trump because they didn’t want the illegals to have amnesty. Once they become legal they go back to Mexico to homes they had or homes they built while living in America. They live in housing get food stamps and get free college. Why do you think they like California. Every thing is free over there. If we don’t do something they are going to take over. I know someone that went t Monterey to take gifts for the poor kids. For a day and a half she did not eat because .the Mexicans would not exchange to dollars . They wanted for her to show a Mexican ID. She called a Mexican here and he had his brother change the money for her. Call this number and tell Trump any concerns you have, the message will be given to him. Call 1-202-456-1111 9 am- 4pm Eastern standard time ( White House )

    Hi,
Could someone explain to me how the only “poor dreamers” I hear about seem to have BS and MS degrees and are school teachers, doctors, nurses etc? Are they all so driven to work 18 hours a day to get a great education or do the media only covers the 2% that actually did that? Do the other 98% live on welfare and go to high school and college on my dime? Do they get the scholarships and grants meant for American Citizens? If I was a legal alien that had waited to come to this country, had gone through all the red tape to get here and become an American Citizen I would be pissed at all the a** kissing happening. I know the Democrats need voters but do they have to finish the bankrupcy of the USA Mr Obama worked so hard for?
